Cold weather is very suitable for hot pot rice. We ordered other different hot pot rice, one is meat platter and the other is the sausages dried duck. Both of them are good and freshly made.

Went here on a weekday night and there were many tables available. The claypot rice was good. The rice was delicious and had a nice crispy layer on the bottom. The toppings were ok. We ordered a few other dishes and I felt that the flavouring was a hit or miss. Like some were over-seasoned and some were under.

Came on a Saturday around 7:50pm and it was full, so we waited. Around 8:10pm a big table for eight opened up, but since there were only two of us, the staff wouldn’t let us sit there. We asked if we could sit first and move later when a smaller table was free, but they said we weren’t allowed to switch tables. They also said we’d have to share the big table if a group of 3–4 arrived. In the end, we still waited until another group came and ended up sharing the table anyway. We waited over 30 minutes in total even though there was a free table the whole time. Service felt pretty unorganized. Food was decent though. The complimentary soup was nice. We had the Beef with Bean Curd & Vegetable Hot Pot and the Chinese Sausage & Chicken with Mushroom. Both were flavorful. The claypot rice was the highlight with lots of crispy rice, but the chicken portion was a bit small. They also gave us two pieces of red bean pudding at the end. Overall, the food was good, but service could be better. I would recommend coming during non-peak hours.

If you are looking for authentic and delicious Cantonese food, you have to go to this place! We particularly enjoy having the clay pot rice, salted chicken, papaya fish soup……and much more! Of course, this review is incomplete should we not mention the excellent service provided by the server team. Being longtime customers, We are very impressed by their professional serving attitude. They always work so hard to make sure the customers are well served in a timely manner even at the busy dinner time. Thank you Bow Kee and especially the servers!

This is a response to the most recent negative review posted by “Selina Ze”. I was a witness to the commotion that was caused by their party, and likely one of the parties that walked “ahead” of them with the same party size. It was a very busy night with many parties waiting outside. You are given slips of paper that are indeed not an indication of how many people are in your party, but rather your place in line. I was #1 in line after the initial dinner rush and also had to wait over an hour and a half for a table, so if you had bigger numbers, you can imagine how long you may have to wait. This was made clear to us prior to waiting. People that may seemingly have arrived “later” and walked “ahead” may have simply gotten an earlier number, left, and returned after x amount of minutes, as we were all told to do so we don’t crowd up the entrance of the restaurant. The assumption that you need to “know someone” from the restaurant to get a table shows pure entitlement. Regardless of reservations and the line, what was conveniently left out of the review was that members of their party not only did not even listen to the explanation of the server, but were yelling, screaming, pointing fingers, bumping into other seated tables, and eventually punching with a closed fist to the server’s chest, over seating at a table, while the server applogized profusely over just trying to do her job. Instead of leaving negative reviews, maybe be grateful that this was not charged as assault. Their behaviour was laughable and utterly embarrassing. You cannot leave a 1 star for food that you never even ate. No one forced you to wait. Their food is great and highly recommended, that’s why there were so many people patiently waiting ahead of you.

If I could give negative stars, I would. Came for dinner and was given a worthless slip of paper with only our party size on it - it doesn’t track who arrives first at the restaurant. Stood waiting over an hour, while multiple groups who arrived after me, same party size and given the same paper slips, were all seated ahead of me. When I finally asked, the server blatantly lied to my face, saying the other groups all had reservations. That’s absurd—people with reservations don’t wait outside holding the same meaningless paper slips as I did. The system is a joke. Unless you know a server personally, don’t even bother going. To “Jen”who responded to my comment, you didn’t see the “whole thing”. You saw the tail end and decided to butt in calling assault. There was no assault, because if there had been, police would have been called on the spot by you or the restaurant. No one laid a hand on the server but you just assumed there was violence, the server herself can corroborate this fact. Everything is recorded and we have no issues with police being called to review the entire scene. The server apologized profusely after being called out because she knew exactly what she did: blatant favouritism and blatant lies. There were no reservations like the server claimed and people certainly didn’t leave then come back like Jen claims, because they don’t take down phone numbers. If you leave, you will lose your spot. Four groups after us were seated first, one of which had even more individuals. Don’t excuse that disrespect from the server and try to spin it otherwise. No one escalates matters for no reason. If no respect is given then no respect will be shown. Let’s be real, every restuarant will favour their returning clients but giving away one table vs giving away multiple tables on a busy night is a completely different level. If there’s no tables or full of reservations say so. Don’t tell your customers directly “your table is ready in 5 minutes” then proceed to give it to other groups, multiple times. If you want a review of food, order the clams and find out that half will be empty shells.

Food is ok. However the servers are just awful. They seemed bothered whenever we asked for anything. Plus they gave me a frown face when I asked for the bill. I will not be returning here. There are so many other restaurants in the same strip mall.
