Been taking my dog here for a year now. He is always well taken care of and they have both indoor and outdoor areas for the dogs with couches to sleep on.
Excellent experience so far bringing in my husky to Doggy House once a week. He gets his socialization in a safe, supervised location and is happily tired until the next day. He is most excited on dog day care days! Thanks to the Doggy House team for taking good care of our pets while we are away.
I have to say I wouldn't trust just any place for my special best friend. These guys are well organized and the live Webcam is the best! Lots of space, indoor and outdoor. And constant monitoring!
I started bringing my pup to The Doggy House a few months ago. She was shy at first but now settles in and enjoys playing with all the dogs. Leslie and Dave are so caring, kind and accommodating. As the parent of a fur baby I also love that I can check in on her through the webcam which gives me piece of mind when I’m away. Thank you Doggy House.
With recent happening and Doggy House not holding accountability or responsibility for 2 dogs they mishandled and escaped the facilities, I will share my experience over the past 2.5 years. I was a past client and still have several sessions in credit but the continuous problems and lack of communication just isn't worth the money anymore. Scenario 1 : During COVID lock downs, I had the ability to work from home and I would occasionally take MILO there when I had important Zoom conference calls or just needed a few hours to hunker down get some work done. With the 2 cameras available, I noticed around lunch that Milo was pawing at his muzzle off by himself on the ground pawing at his face. When I took closer look I saw they had soft muzzle him, without a phone call or note on why the muzzle was needed. If he was being a difficult dog, the waiver also says they will contact the owner to pick up the dog, which they never did. I called in and asked why he was muzzled and they said the neighbours were complaining about noise and barking (mind you...this is doggy daycare...barking is a completely normal form of communication). I informed them that I do not have issues with muzzles as a tool but I, as the owner, would like to know why and when it's being implemented (and a completely fair ask in my books). They took the muzzle off and when I went to pick up a couple hours later, another younger lady did the hand-off and when I asked her again why my dog was muzzled, she then said he was muzzles because he was mounting too many dogs and they used it as a distraction. I have MANY feelings about this. From a disconnected communication and not knowing which story to believe to muzzles should not be a distraction tool. My first gut feeling this place was not right for my dog. Scenario 2: After several months I thought I'd give it another shot. It's close to home, I'd keep a close eye on the cameras and I clearly communicated that if any tools need to be used or he's causing trouble, call me and I'll pick him up in under 5 minutes. I hear nothing and whenever I looked at the camera's he seemed fine, playful so I let the day pass. The hand off was normal and they had no additional comments. I went home and fed him dinner when I noticed dry blood around his ears. Upon inspection he had a tear in his ear, small but enough to draw noticeable blood. Strike 2. I understand my dog likes to wrestle and has a rough and tumble style of play. Injuries happen and punctures too...they're dogs with canine teeth. It happens. What I didn't like again, the lack of communication. If they intentionally did not tell me, shame on them. If they didn't notice...shame on them! I trusted them to supervise all play to communicate necessary details during hand off. I took him to the vet the next day and just had it disinfected just incase. after that last session, I cut ties and although I have several sessions remaining, I have forfeited them because my dogs safety comes first. I was going to keep this to myself but Doggy House needs to do a better job communicating the good and the bad news. As a pet owner I understand it's not going to be flowers and rainbows everyday but do the due diligence and be better. I can not speak of other people's experiences but these are a couple of reasons why I no longer support Doggy House. If any of you still speak with Vernon, please send him my love and regards and miss him dearly.
This daycare is excellent, it provides both indoor and outdoor areas for doggies. Staff is nice and patience. It' s so good that provides Webcam 24 hrs so that I could see my doggie anytime in daycare. It gives me 100% confidence.
This was my first time using The Doggie House, Vernon’s dog sitting, and I can tell you I am very pleased the way my dog Luke was treated. Vernon was very professional, he took the time to message me and gave me consistent updates with pictures of my dog. We felt very comfortable leaving Luke with him and he was really accommodating. His flexibility with drop off and pick up was much appreciated. Luke had a wonderful time with Vernon, was happy to see us, but neither wanted to leave. Luke already misses the place and Vernon I would definitely recommend him and go back next time we will need the services. Thank you, Claudiu
