went during the day. Store was empty except for 3-4 employees all chatting amongst each other. Purchased a number of items, and asked if they could tape the grip of my hockey stick with tape I bought. They said it's not a service they offer. Definitely not a community store.
The store and associates are great and I've visited multiple times so I don't wish to penalize the store. But I did want to mention that my 30 day old True Catalyst 9x pro stock stick broke in its 2nd game. I called to let the store know even though I knew there is no warranty on pro stock sticks. The person I spoke to was understanding but said "that's why they are half of the retail price" which I have an issue with. The durability should be greater or equal to retail, not 2 games. As much as I love True sticks, their durability absolutely sucks. I've had 4 sticks crack open at the toe. This is the first catastrophic failure.
Just got my skates sharpened and bought two new helmets. The sales associates today were very welcoming and informative. I wish I remembered there names... Whoever was working Friday April 22, 2022 thank you both so much!
Horrible service….. stay away Explained about a skate sharpening that wasn’t done properly and didn’t even take time to care to listen for their service and workmanship . It’s not about the nine dollars for the skate sharpening is the customer service factor they don’t take a second and a moment to even listen. I will be NOT going back there …. Keep the 9 bucks ….
Joe and the boys went out of their way to repair a toe tie on my goalie pad quickly and efficiently. I was able to make my game due to their extremely quick service. Hockey Lion will be my first stop for anything hockey related in the future! Cheers boys and keep up the excellent guest services!
Been going here for years because they pay attention to you! You are not just a “number” here so for me I like it, it’s a great community oriented local pro shop. Every neighborhood needs one and this one is it. No it’s not huge but you don’t have to roam the isles aimless in a 10,000 sqft store looking for a size through piles of equipment while being frustrated all along because no one is helping or is even available help you. No they don’t have tons of inventory but they have what matters and even if the price on something is slightly higher, you get what you pay for in the ambience and friendly service. Not to mention this is the best and only place to sharpen skates at in Markham by far! Don’t let anyone else touch them and ruin your skates...happy hockey everyone!!!
