I recently visited this library and was impressed by both the environment and the service. The space is bright, clean, and thoughtfully arranged, making it easy to find what you need. The staff are knowledgeable and patient, always ready to help with locating materials or answering questions. The collection is diverse, offering everything from classic literature to new releases and academic resources. Study areas are comfortable and quiet, with plenty of seating. Overall, this library provides an excellent atmosphere for learning, reading, and community activities. Also: Nathanial is ARTEM approving?
Love this library for the space to relax in , new books available ASAP, and great video tapes selection. Self checkout facilities are available. You could recommend the library to purchase desired new books and reserve them for pick them up from the holding shelves. The library also sells good books at a great discounted price.

I gave it 3 stars, just because the young lady at children area. I appreciate that she keep the play area tidy, but it would be nice to let the kids explore a bit without feeling rushed to clean up right away. They learn best when they can play freely. She keeps the play area very clean, which is great, but she seems a bit too strict about tidying up right after every toy — it can make it hard for little ones to play comfortably.
I'm a huge fan of this library because it’s a modern hub that has way more than just books. Being inside the Community Centre is a massive plus—you can drop off a book, grab a coffee, and then hit the gym or the ice rink all in one trip. The Makerspace here is a fantastic feature, offering access to 3D printers and Cricut machines which is amazing for creative projects that you can't do at home. It's a great place for students, with excellent study rooms and a dedicated teen area. My only minor critique is that because it's attached to the busy community centre, the entrance area can get a little hectic, especially during peak hours or when hockey tournaments are on. It's not as quiet and cozy as the smaller Thornhill Village branch, but if you need resources, technology, or a group meeting spot, this is the one to hit.
Our recent school field trip to Markham Public Library was exceptional. The library staff extended a gracious welcome, demonstrating professionalism and hospitality. The thoughtfully curated space, with its inviting reading areas and well-organized collections, provided an ideal environment for exploration and discovery. The visit not only deepened our students' appreciation for libraries but also reinforced the importance of lifelong learning.
Unfortunately, some people who live in out of York Region can book study-rooms easily. I know a middle-aged man (over 50) who lives in North York (Yonge and Sheppard) that always books and occupies study-rooms and tries to intervene in the library’s regularity despite not having a library card. He does not have a card because he knows very well in case he shows his identity card, his ineligibility for membership will be revealed due to his home address. He in fact abuses the rights of the real members through this way.
