Been going to few once upon a child store and this is the first time asking for the items to be in the box, for them to have it sorted out. Got my stuff in ikea big reusable box and ask us that its their new policy dont accept tge items unless its in tge box soorry to say but thats the most stupid policy you guys implemented. What makes a difference if its in the bag or in the box really? So inconvenient...
You bring stuff in plastic bags few years ago, they ask for shopping bags. This time you bring it in shopping bags they say they want a box. The lady there pretty aggressively suggest that I bring a used box from food basics and put my stuff in it or they won't take it. Hassle that's not worth it, stuff dropoed at donation box is in the same parking lot and you don't deal with those workers.
I went here to sell some kids clothes, couple of them new with price tags.. for 8 nice clothes I got a cash offer of $12.80.. If the business is used apparel store, and let’s say I’m one of their suppliers.. not a fair business. I’m at loss.. I might as well, donate the clothes for cause.. and save some time..
Lots of stock, not necessarily the best quality. Store isles are very cramped. Slow at sorting(the buy counter). Prices are higher than other once upon a child stores I have gone to.staff is friendly.
I had such a great experience at Once Upon A Child in Markham! The store is clean, well-organized, and full of gently used children’s clothes, toys, books, and gear at very reasonable prices. Everything is easy to browse, and I was impressed with the quality of the items—they really do a great job selecting only the best. My husband and I brought 2x large boxes of baby girl clothes. We came in at 11:00 am ( when open ) it took the employees 2 1/2 hours ! They originally told us it will only take 1/2 hour . When I finally said something they said they are busy . I told the lady I was the first person here . Truly would go somewhere else as it took us over a week for them to even look at the clothes. We called the day before and 1 hour after open and they declined us . The week before was the same . All in all service is horrible .
The frustration and anger came from the selling section. My grandma was so unsatisfied with the customer service. She was extremely furious with the whole experience. Maybe give away your toys to your friends or the "Thrift Store" across the street name The Salvation Army. It will make you feel with joy and happiness. Because the staff working in customer service has no knowledge on Marvel, DC. Or toy brand like Hasbro, Mattel. None. It's a wasted of time comes to this store. Overall, the whole experience simply disrespectful.
