Stopped in with my daughter for a tea while we were between appointments last week. She decided on a sweet treat while we were there. I can't remember what the amazing gentlemen behind the counter called it but it was a huge hit. Its was like a churro in a muffin shape. Will definitely be back.
Ordered a mango matcha latte and a white chocolate latte, and both were extremely disappointing. Tasted like milk, without any matcha flavor. There is a noticeable difference in the matcha color between the two drinks. It seemed like the person making them wasn’t very familiar with how to prepare them properly, as our drinks looked quite different from what other customers received.
Nice little cafe in the north east end of the city. They didn’t have decaf options at the time, but the owner was good to find a dark roast with minimal caffeine. Nice place to sit and work. Parking isn’t great in the area. Sorry, for no pictures!
We were exhausted from walking and happened to pass by this café. The staff was kind and offered us an indoor seat with air conditioning. Since the weather outside was hot, she even thoughtfully brought over a standing fan. The food portions and taste were decent and matched the price. Overall, a pleasant stop to rest and recharge.
Cappuccino probably had more milk than coffee rather than a one to one…. Service was disappointing… Person working there seemed like they couldn’t be bothered. Things look messy esp with the dead plants. Baked goods did not look very fresh.
Hidden gem! I challenge anyone to get their usual drink made here. Coffee naturally doesn't sit well with me, but there's something about freshly ground coffee and the time they put into each drink they make that not only warms my heart, but creates this digestive friendly master-crafted beverage. It's slowly become my go to place for a quick pick me up, and now they carry donuts and cookies that threatened the existence of my attempted 2021 summer bod. I would give an additional star if I could.
The Matcha espresso was very different, the matcha brought a nice earthy deep coffee taste, which i surprisingly enjoyed. The Yuzu ice tea was bitter sweet...lol but the main event for me was the Matcha donut by Pete's bakery, it really hit the spot and definitely will come earlier to try other flavors. Monkey cafe got a 3 star because the decor was kinda plain and the place was extremely hot wi poor ventilation. Hopefully this will change next time we come visit. 3.5 stars
