We were at the restaurant for our Christmas company dinner. Everything was flawless. Although we were a big group of people, the service was super efficient and quick. Would love to come back with my partner
The atmosphere was nice but what was lacking was quality , I was not expecting such poor quality food and service. The food had no spice and definitely was missing simple marination. The service was poor, there were 5 or 6 servers hovering over you the entire time , I mean I wasn’t done drinking my water, and there was already a server holding the bottle, waiting to pour me another glass, it was just too much. The food definitely deserves an upgrade compared to the atmosphere. I wouldn’t make this my regular go to restaurant
The food was OK, it could've been much better. There was no harmony between the different items on the plate for example. It felt like it just a piece of chicken on a grill thrown on a plate rather than having a sauce or proper veggies that would bring everything together. The potatoes were extremely undercooked and hard. The veggies felt like they were not steamed or sauted, The chicken was not juicy, felt rubbery. In terms of food, the only thing that was OK was the eggplant appetizer. There was too much service meaning that the service felt overwhelming every two minutes somebody walked by asking if everything is OK This was a negative point, personally I wouldn't revisit. There are better options in the area.
Philoxenia is now my go-to spot for Greek food. Everything tastes so fresh, like it was just made at home. I ordered the veggie moussaka and it was incredible, honestly the best I’ve ever had. Service was quick and friendly, and you can tell the staff really care about making sure everyone has a great time. It’s the kind of place where you instantly feel comfortable, and you leave already planning your next visit. If you love Greek food (or even if you just love good food), you need to eat here. Five stars, no question!
Philoxenia is easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. The food is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented, it feels like you’ve stepped into a family kitchen in Greece. The grilled octopus was perfectly tender, the moussaka was rich and comforting, and the baklava was amazing!! What sets this place apart is the atmosphere. It’s welcoming without being rushed, and the staff treat you like family. They take the time to explain dishes and even offer recommendations that hit the mark every time. Whether you’re familiar with Greek cuisine or trying it for the first time, this restaurant is an absolute gem.
We used to love this restaurant, but were disappointed during our last visit: bread was stale and tasteless. It took us by surprise. My lamb was ordered as medium well, but it was charred and completely overcooked. Definitely not medium well. Appetizers and dessert were good. But overall, not the quality we expected.
Went here for my birthday dinner. Food was fantastic. Octopus was extremely tender, mussels were delicious, and the salt-crusted fish was juicy and fresh. The only downside were the grilled/roast vegetables that came with the fish, as the carrots and brocolli definitely needed another 5 minutes of cook time. House wine was great as well. If you want fantastic Greek cuisine, give this place a visit!
