6-Nov-2025 at 6:45 PM I had to deal with the rudest person with the lowest intelligence at this store. These chains really need to spend more to train their staff so they don’t behave as ridiculous as this person. If you read the comments, you’ll notice I’m not the first person getting disgusted by the behavior of staff at this store. I was at the cashier to pay $150 for the toys but the behavior of the staff changed my mind. Good luck getting customers with this attitude. No wonder I was the only person in that store at that time.
The store in Markham had a better variety of puzzles for the 4+ children than the other location we had visited the same day. We purchased more than we initially planned to buy just to "secure" our peace of mind for the coming holidays.
Terrible customer service even to the kids. Not willing to give a smile to customer if not purchase or returns. Compare any other Mastermind Toys locations, this is the worst!
This location has had a management change but not much has changed overall. The previous manager (named Dickson, December 2023) was extremely condescending and rude when they were on the verge of bankruptcy protection and their employee mistakenly told me that two items I was going to purchase were BOGO but in fact were not when she charged me. He refused to refund me citing their bankruptcy was in flux and they couldn’t honour refunds even though it was the employee’s error. I told them if they didn’t refund my items then I would get them free anyways because I would file a complaint with my credit card and they didn’t care and I did so anyways. Now it seems their website is constantly wrong on stock but yet they never pick up the phone to confirm stock. This wouldn’t be a problem normally but when they cancel orders the promo code I use cannot be used again and I’m left without a coupon code and no product to show for it. Fix your website and fix your inventory management.
Overpriced and I’ve never had a good customer experience with this store. Our conversation at the counter started as “Hi! Can I please make an exchange?” “Well, that depends on what you’re exchanging”. It’s almost as if they knew before I spoke that they wouldn’t honor the exchange. Lovely if you’re making a purchase, very rude if you’re making exchanges or returns. Very restrictive exchange policy on gift exchanges. I wouldn’t recommend anyone buy gifts from here. We ended up going across the street to Indigo where the customer service was so much better.
I went in tonight at this location, and they are not welcoming!! It's like I was disrupting their convos that they were having and were so unpleasant. It took all 3 of them to do my return while other people were waiting in line. I have been here multiple times, and it's the same thing every time! This is a kids' store where the staff should be welcoming! They all need customer service training ASAP!!! From other reviews, I am not the only person saying this
Uodate: Amazing service as always, including Audry. Excellent selection and service. Not the lowest priced place to get toys but the service is the exceptional. Whether as a gift or for your own kid, the staff are knowledgeable about the different toys suitable for different ages.
