This place is wonderful, a hidden gem that I found when I got lost. It had produce and jams, pickles….i was impressed. The potted mums were not that expensive but they were BIG! Bill who runs this place was a pleasure to talk to, I’ll definitely be coming back if just to talk to Bill!
I’m a big fan of supporting farmers, especially locals. However, the folks who run the place need to learn some manners. Lost a potential customer after I was yelled at for picking up and inspecting the tomatoes. “Who do you think you are?” Ummm.. I think I’m a customer looking to spend money at your farm? Tons of other local farms and shops around. Thanks for helping me put my money where it’s deserved. Learn some manners.
Today June 19, 2025 at the age of 69, after a short battle of cancer , we lost a great friend and the driving force behind Cedargrove Greenhouses. Susan was a kind & talented person. She enjoyed needlepointing & especially her decorating painting. Of course she excelled in her creations in gardening & wonderful planters. Her customers will miss her terribly. Our condolences to Bill & Mike & all her family, friends & dedicated customers for their loss.
Incorrect google hours it shows open on Monday and to my dismay arrived at the Greenhouse to realize it was closed. Please update your hours so it is accurate for customers!
I really hate having to give a bad review however I must say that the quality of their vegetable plants is not the greatest. Last Year i bought a ghost pepper plant and it did nothing. It did not grow at all or produce any peppers. This year when I went back to get banana peppers I told them about it and the comment was “ oh well looks like you got a dud”. No apologies , no offer to get one complimentary… nothing. I decided to go ahead and buy the banana pepper plants anyway. Big mistake because they too are “duds” most have not produced peppers and the couple that did are small. Luckily I purchased banana pepper plants elsewhere and they have produced wonderful peppers. Seems as though this garden centre has a lot of “Duds” Buyer beware.
I drive by this place for everyday but never stopped. I did today and I was so pleasantly surprised. I didnt think this place was big. Its huge. The most beautiful flowers, arrangements, plants, herbs around. The same day I was at Sheridan and this place is better. Customer service is top notch. The lady who helped me was so patient with me. Helped me pick out a set of arrangements for a gift I wanted. They were HUGE and SO BEAUTIFUL. The price is amazing. They also sell baked goods and jarred items that look amazing. I will definitely come back for those and come by my home flowers from here. The flowers here are special. I cant believe all these years, I've never come. The place is a Gem.
Cedar Grove is a treasure in Markham. Beautiful plants and flowers, amazing bakery (the butter tarts will knock your socks off) and Bill & Susan are so wonderful. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
