I cut my hand and a very sweet staff member helped patch me up (I believe her name was Charissa). She even gave me some bandaids and disinfectant wipes for the road. I really appreciate the positive atmosphere and sense of community that this gym has to offer
I came in for a 3 day pass as someone interested in possibly signing up for a membership. Alex, Charissa and Robert were extremely kind and helpful in guiding me through the process, giving me a tour and just being overall great people. Thank you guys!!!
Finally was able to try this Goodlife gym location. It was very spacious and bright with lots of gym machine equipment. Their showers were clean so I really really appreciate that! I used their cardio treadmill on the 1st floor and stair master machine on the 2nd floor. The machines seem to be fairly new and clean. So far so good...will see if the experience changes over time.. Pros: Upon entry, there's a room where you can change your shoes (ideal for winter). There's a stretch area, recovery room, hot yoga room, etc. Cons: The gym can feel hot and humid during busy hours. They can turn up the AC a bit. The parking outside can be packed during rush hours. I personally value some privacy... But because the gym is so open, anyone can see you. As a guy I caught other guys creeping at me (not in a pleasant demeanor lol) which feels weird but no big deal. Can't imagine how it's like for the girls working out there lmao.
I recently visited the newly renovated gym in town and overall, it's a great facility with a lot to offer. One of the highlights for me was the recovery room—such a great addition! It’s a perfect spot to unwind and take care of your body post-workout. The change rooms are also very well done: spacious, clean, and thoughtfully designed. That said, I did find that the machines are packed in a bit too closely together. When the gym gets busy, it can feel a bit cramped and even a little suffocating, which takes away from the otherwise great experience. If the layout were more spread out, it would definitely improve the overall flow and comfort of the space. Still a solid gym
Very large spacious new gym here in Markham. Although it's busier than any Goodlifw I've been to anywhere across Canada, it has all the standard equipment. Unfortunately it's missing some nice-to-have pieces for legs and arms - which I'd expect from a gym this size. Less than 100 working lockers for a gym that fits 400 people at once… Poor locker room design. Everyone is asking when they are getting more lockers but it's not in the plans. It will still be my go to gym because of proximity to where I live.
Often there is no one at the front desk and while some people are very pleasant, some are curt and abrupt when speaking to you. The gym is good enough for a workout but looks a bit run down in places. One note: the yoga class is great!
I hate writing reviews, but I felt the need to do so for this gym. I use this gym because it's the only all women's location close to where I live. I've been using it since 2012. I love some of the employees, super nice and very welcoming. Over the years, however, I have noticed that certain employees are extremely rude, especially new personal trainers. They do not like you using some equipment or doing certain exercises because it "disturbs their current client." It's a gym, there is bound to be noise. And as for the equipment, if I have a membership, all equipment is fair game unless it is being used. And all space is fair game, unless it is being used. The trainers at this gym need to understand that.
I have started coming to this gym for my workouts and I love it. The staff is so friendly and the gym is well equipped. I really appreciate the fact that this is a women only gym- as a woman who dons the hijab it's a major plus to workout with out the scarf! Highly recommend joining the classes that they offer too...my current fav is the soul Barre class :)
This GoodLife fitness centre is located at Loblaws. It is very convenient for customers because they can do grocery shopping and fitness training altogether at one place. This place is a women's only club. Therefore, it is resticted to a specific gender.
I've been coming here for 9 years. I love the atmosphere of a women's only club, however, during peak hours it is almost impossible to find a machine (cardio or strength) or a spot on the mats. The staff are friendly and always helpful.
