After grabbing coffee with my friend on Main Street, we decided to sit down for a small bite. While walking around TooGood Pond, we came across La Fonte, which is tucked right alongside the pond. We walked in and were immediately greeted and seated. We initially asked for a table at the back, but were informed there was a reservation coming in, so we were offered a table for two by the door instead. Thankfully, it wasn’t too chilly, and since foot traffic was minimal, the door stayed closed for most of our visit. When we arrived, there was only one other table of two enjoying coffee. The space itself is quite small, which isn’t what you’d typically expect from an Italian spot. They do have patio seating, but it’s not really suitable for this time of year. That said, the service was excellent. We were promptly offered drinks, given menus, and had our order taken within a reasonable timeframe. The server also introduced us to the daily specials, kept our waters topped up, and cleared tables as needed. Our waitress was very friendly, and what appeared to be the manager also stopped by to thank us for coming. For food, we shared the sausage pizza. It’s meant to be personal-sized, but we were pretty hungry. The flavors were solid, and the pizza wasn’t too heavy. The crust was nicely crispy yet chewy, and the toppings were well balanced, not too much, not too little. We also noticed their pastry display; the apple muffin in particular looked tempting, though we didn’t try it this time. Definitely something to come back for. All in all, a pleasant experience and a nice spot to stop by if you’re in the area.
New Italian bistro. Ordered a cappuccino for $5.50, comes with a small biscotti. The cappuccino was strong and delicious. They also offer pizzas, and other hot food and desserts. They only have four tables inside. In the summer, I assume they would have tables as I see dining umbrellas.
Amazing spot in Markham! Absolutely love going to La Fonte for lunch (have yet to go for dinner but have no doubt it’ll be amazing). Best pizza around, the dough is perfect, delicious crust and high quality ingredients that you can taste in each bite. They have a great selection on their menu, with seasonal specials that are always top quality. Coffee is always delicious and they have a nice assortment of baked good, great option to take home. The atmosphere is so cute and cozy. They have set up a beautiful outdoor patio for the summer months, the interior is on the small side, with just a handful of tables but I would 100% wait a while for their food! The staff are all so lovely, they create a very inviting environment. La Fonte is a must to go to!
Spent a lovely afternoon at this fantastic location! I tried a Pistachio coffee which was dreamy, perfect flavours! The apple bread pudding was delectable. Service was great too.
Stopped by this little place as it was by the water. The service needs massive improvement, the people seem to be nice but could not figure on who to service… for someone to take our order took forever and then even just to get water was another 10mins … one customer (a lady with her kid) even walked out! The food looks good but could use a little bit more flavour. The atmosphere is nice but I wish they did something about the bees outside. Overall nothing great but not bad either.
I came here for the 1st time today. After all the things I saw on Instagram and after the reviews I read i had to check it out. I was greeted so warmly by Danielle and Luigi. Very nice couple. Its a small but very cozy restaurant. Ordered 2 different pizzas ( Calabrese & Rapini & Sausage) both were cooked to perfection and you can tell everything was made from high quality and fresh ingredients. One of the best pizzas I've ever had. The desserts & coffee were also dynamite. Beautiful Views of Toogood Pond. A really beautiful place to check out.
This is a hidden gem with a great view, fantastic service, and impeccable, authentic Italian food. It feels and tastes like a bit of Roma. This place is so good that it can get busy in a hurry. However, even in peak times, it is worth the wait. I highly recommend it!! You won’t regret it :)
