Not only is their sashimi super fresh & yummy, Taro fish delivers amazing customer service! The staff gladly offered to slice the sashimi thinner and accommodate my request after learning that I am planning to make a special sashimi birthday cake for my boyfriend. They are all excited about my mini project!
Always super fresh and reasonably priced — my go-to spot for sashimi! I had to bring my cat with me one time (long story), and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. They even helped keep an eye on her outside while I grabbed my food. It’s rare to find a place that not only serves great food but also treats people (and their pets) with such warmth. Highly recommend!
Taro's fish is definitely my favourite place to get a quick snack/meal! The food is always outstanding. Every single roll is created perfectly, combining many flavours while being, what I'll say, quite healthy. If you're going to eat a hand roll on the road, you will probably not have to worry about messes. The seaweed doesn't crumble and the rice doesn't fall out of the roll. They also have very intelligent packaging. All of the workers I have encountered so far are extremely kind and seem to really enjoy their job.
As a sushi lover who's tried many different restaurants, I have to say that Taro’s Fish is truly one of the best! For the price, you never have to worry about the quality — their sushi-grade fish is top-notch. On top of that, the customer service is always so kind and welcoming. I love visiting not only for the delicious food but also for the clean, friendly atmosphere. It’s always a great experience!
I come to Taro's fish because I don't like fishy fish, and my taste buds are funny, majority of sashimi restaurants/take outs are always so slimy and I hated the taste. My friend told me Taro is one of the very few places that provides very fresh fish, directly flown in from Japan. So I took a dive and got a small tray, and wow, I found that one place that I can actually eat. It is on a pricier side, however, it is worth it.
Birthday yum, birthday fresh!! I have known of Taro's fish since their first store on Sheppard, they are quite far, and once I started seeing their expansion, I felt so lucky! Finally a place closer to us with real fresh fish from Japan. I mean if you complain about the pricing and try to compare to other shops in the area, you are missing the point!! The FRESHNESS, and care in the food is top notch! Thank you Taro's fish for such a lovely and amazing tray of birthday sashimi. I had the greatest time with my family, we loved the presentation, the incredible freshness of the sashimi, I had just one picture, b/c it did not last after a few mins. We polished the whole tray. I have always dropped by for lunch time, getting small lunch bentos, and have my eyes on different larger offers, finally got a chance this year to try it with people I love. Thank you, you got yourself a returning customer!!
I had a very disappointing experience at this store. The fish section had a strong, unpleasant odor, and the seafood looked dried out and far from fresh. The overall selection was limited, and I struggled to find basic items. Pricing felt excessive, especially considering the poor quality. To make things worse, when I tried to pay for snacks, the store refused to accept cash—only debit or credit cards were allowed. I wasn’t aware that cash was no longer accepted in parts of Canada; this came as a surprise and was very inconvenient. I won’t be returning.
