Reposting my review, as my original seems to have disappeared. I’m not sure why it was removed, but I’d like to respectfully share my honest experience again. Honest review: This music school is simply fantastic overall. The management team/staff and general managers are so kind and so helpful and all the instructors (Alex, in particular) are talented, encouraging, and patient with students. Unfortunately, group rehearsals tell a very different story, due to one person in charge (Michael, I believe). His behavior is consistently unprofessional and unpleasant. He's bossy, outright rude, dismissive, condescending, and unhelpful. Worse still, he regularly puts students on the spot, both during live performances (as noted by audience members) and in studio settings, in a way that feels more like bullying than leadership. When people react negatively, he brushes it off with offhand remarks that only make things worse. The atmosphere he sometimes creates is tense, discouraging, and demoralizing. Unfortunately, a sentiment shared by several students and parents at the school. Regardless of his background, this does not excuse his rude and condescending attitude or the way he turns rehearsals into a source of dread. In an otherwise outstanding school, his presence is hands-down the worst and demotivating part of the experience.
very accommodating staff, willing to work with you one on one in order to give you the best opportunity/ experience here at School of Rock Markham! Genuinely cool people, I recommend Rooz for anyone looking for guitar lessons! He knows his stuff and he's extremely talented :0
The school method gives kids an unique musical experience. The live shows motivate them to do their best and be prepared to play/sing in front of an audience. The kids learn to collaborate with band mates, solve problems and control nervousness. Truly amazing!
Premium music learning experience for your youngster, and one both parents and kids enjoy. My youngest plays drums here and has advanced so quickly and steadily with such a well structured method book and teaching experience. The band program is extra fun and motivation for the student.
The staff are caring professionals creating a supportive and inspiring environment. My son loves being a part of it! His passion for music is encouraged and developed with enthusiasm.
I've only been to one trial lesson and one official lesson so far, but I've been very happy with my vocal lessons at School of Rock. Raquel and Candace were both very friendly and knowledgeable, and were able to immediately identify and work on areas of improvement. I had fun!
Loved it! Kids just finished metal mania camp and now they want to join a band. This was the best camp they have ever had. For sure will go again. They do awesome birthday parties too!
