had a very disappointing experience at the Shoppers Drug Mart pharmacy at Markham & 14th Avenue. The pharmacist, Megna Patel did not provide any information or counselling about my son’s antibiotic medication. After I reported this concern to Shoppers Drug Mart Head Office, instead of addressing the issue professionally, the pharmacy owner, Shaista Firdous, threatened me—through my brother (Saimon Saishiv) who works there—to remove my complaint. My parents even received a Trespass Notice without explanation. I’m extremely concerned about patient safety and the unprofessional behaviour at this location. Patients deserve respect, transparency, and proper communication when it comes to their medications. INITIAL COMPLAINT I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with the service I received from pharmacist Megna at the Shoppers Drug Mart located at Markham Road and 14th Avenue. During my recent visit, I found her demeanor to be discourteous and unprofessional. When dispensing a new medication, she failed to provide any explanation or guidance regarding its proper use, potential side effects, or other essential information that patients rely on from their pharmacist. Her communication style was abrupt and dismissive, which made the interaction uncomfortable and disappointing. Pharmacists play a vital role in patient care, and effective communication is a key component of that responsibility. I believe this situation reflects poorly on the standards of service expected at Shoppers Drug Mart. I hope management will review this matter and take appropriate steps to ensure that patients receive respectful, informative, and professional care in the future.
Shoppers Drug Mart as a whole is joke. $12.95 dispensing fee for any medications whereas other pharmacies including Costco charges $0, and then any items they sell in the isles are inflated by at least 15% compared to other stores. Avoid Shoppers Drug Mart at any cost!
They sell expired medicine be careful, I went to by a medicine and the pharmacist recommended and I purchased it, the expire date was not visible so I took a closer look and it was expired, I went back and informed about it to the cashier she refunded but not even said sorry ..
I had a great experience at Shoppers Drug Mart recently, thanks to Malik at the checkout. He was friendly, efficient, and super helpful when assisting me with my lottery purchase. It's always nice to be served by someone who’s professional and courteous—Malik made the quick stop feel like quality service. Appreciate the great customer care
I placed a prescription order at this Shoppers Drug Mart and was told it would be ready the next day — unfortunately, when I arrived, it wasn’t. Understandably frustrating, especially when you’re depending on a medication being available when promised. That said, I really have to give credit where it’s due. The pharmacist didn’t just apologize and send me on my way — they took action. They checked the inventory at nearby locations, found a store on Highway 7 that had it in stock, transferred the referral, and even called the other Shoppers to confirm they received it. Thanks to their quick thinking, I was able to pick it up that same day with minimal extra hassle. A mistake was made, but it was handled with professionalism, efficiency, and actual problem-solving — which is more than I can say for a lot of places. I left feeling looked after, not brushed off.
I’ve been to this Shopper’s Drug Mart location many times before, but never have I ever experienced such terrible customer service as today. I went in to grab a few items, and went to checkout at the till where I was met with Safura. It was an ordinary transaction until I pulled out my PC Card to be scanned. Firstly, she didn’t even ask me if I had a points card that I wish to scan. Then, when I did present her with my points card, she didn’t say a word and proceeded to point at the scanner all the way on her side of the till for me to scan. It is common practice in any customer service based field to take the card from the customer and scan it and then return it. Now this wouldn’t have bothered me so much if she had asked to please scan the card on the scanner. But she didn’t say a single word. Instead she pointed to the scanner on the other side of the till like it was some sort of demand. Another couple things I noticed during this interaction was the lack of name tag. Every shoppers employee has to wear a name tag, and she did not have hers on upon entering the till, nor did she make the effort to put it on before completing the transaction. When I did request to know her name at the end of the transaction, she had to get her name tag from a drawer behind the desk to provide me with the correct spelling. The last thing I noticed is that upon completion of the transaction, on my receipt, the name of the cashier was Shaheeda, not Safura. This means she did switch to her till when she checked me out, which goes against store policies. During the entire transaction, Safura seemed to have a careless and entitled attitude, and the only time she seemed to care was when I asked her for her name tag. She proceeded to try to defend herself by providing some lame excuses, for which honestly I didn’t have the time nor the patience to hear out. Good customer service skills is an essential and vital part of every customer’s decision to return to a store and shop there moving forward, and I think because of Safura, this Shoppers Drug Mart location has lost a loyal and returning customer. If you are a customer yourself, I would NOT recommend coming to this Shoppers Drug Mart location. I would recommend the one on Hwy 7, where good customer service isn’t a privilege but a priority.
I came here to buy two cartons of eggs and was checking that none of them were broken. One of the employees yelled rudely at me from across the store that I can’t switch the eggs in the cartons, which was not even what I was doing. Her attitude was unnecessarily rude.
