We were excited for Folco's based on the reviews but it was a huge let down. The food was very bland considering it's made from scratch with fresh ingredients. We both had the specials. The rack of lamb with ravioli is crazy over priced for what it is. You get 2 thin ravioli and the lamb had a massive piece of fat on it to the point where there was only a few bites of lamb. Huge let down at $42The salmon had no flavor. It tasted like something I would cook in a hurry at home and the pesto had very mild taste, served with plain spaghetti and topped with diced tomatoes..also very disappointing esp for what they charge $33The server was pleasant but never came by to top up our glasses at all. And to boot, no wood oven pizza during dinner.
I have been here twice and the food was very good but there seems to be a common issue with a lot of the reviews and that is the incredibly long wait for food. The first time the apatizer salad showed up in decent time and the mains were very slow and the second time no food showed up for nearly an hour. I understand that with a high end meal you want the courses staggered to allow for an enjoyable experience but this is not what is happening. Whoever is managing this restaurant needs to get their act together or they will have no patrons to worry about.
Just went there for dinner tonight. The food and service were fine. But the food came very, very slowly. After ordering, the appetizer (just one salad) took 30 min to come. Then, the main course took another 40 min (i.e. 1 hr and 10 min after ordering). If you are hungry or in a hurry, this place may not be a good choice.
Let me start this review by saying I am a very picky person especially with food. We recently as my sons baptism at Folcos and it was absolutely phenomenal. Its very hard to please fellow Italians with pasta and they did just that. The pesto primavera was unreal, the veal and chicken were so tender and delicious and the vegetables that came alongside were cooked to perfection. Not to mention the beautiful presentation of the fruit platters. I was so pleased and my family cannot stop talking about how wonderful everything was. Deana helped create the menu and her suggestions were on point. Our servers were great as well. Christina was so personable and a pleasure to have with us. Do not hesitate to try Folcos , you will not be disappointed. Thank you!
Food was pretty good but it was expensive for what it was. I ordered the lamb on ravioli and the grilled calamari to start. The calamari wasnt bad but I felt it could have been seasoned better. The lamb was really good but it felt odd to have been paired with the ravioli. The sauce on the lamb with the ravioli sort of diminished the ravioli flavour. And for dessert I had the tiramis which was very nice, light and fluffy. All of this would have been fine if it wasn't so pricey. The restaurant doesn't have AC so it got pretty hot fast and the service was fairly slow. Not sure I'd go back.
