A very patient , caring and professional doctor . Whenever u have concerns, she will listen and take care of it. She won't say no even you ask more than one question. I should say I feel grateful to have her to be my family doctor.
Dr. Si Yu (James) Zhao is certainly knowledgeable and in the past he has helped correct another doctor's false diagnosis/analysis of an issue I was facing. Pre-covid when the primary way of seeing Dr. Zhao was in person, he was approachable, blunt/efficient in an understandable way. However, as time went on his true attitude towards people revealed itself. Strike 1: a family member had a concern about a persistent issue, Dr. Zhao was laughing at the seeming triviality of the issue, not empathizing with what they were going through. Strike 2: Dr. Zhao was very late to an online appointment with my mother (which she waited for 2 hours!), and when he finally called, my mother had missed the first couple of calls because the ringer was on silent and she had stepped away. When she realized, she instantly called back. Understandable on both sides, right? Dr. Zhao didn't think so. He yelled over the phone at my mother without apologizing for being late and not hearing her side out. Strike 3: I had booked an online appointment through his system for a crisis I was experiencing, a few weeks into the future. They cancelled without explanation and without rescheduling. Bonus: their receptionist/admin is generally rude. Each time I have given him the benefit of the doubt and given his practice another chance, particularly because I do believe he can be helpful/skilled in what he does. However, with how he has treated people in my family, over the span of several years, I can't recommend this doctor unless you can somehow develop a good relationship with him. Dr. Zhao, if you need help with your anger management I can recommend you a fantastic psychotherapist.
My experience with Dr. James Zhao has been a positive one over the years. The receptionist has also been pleasant to interact with as well. Dr. Zhao is knowledgeable and efficient. I feel like because he speaks fast, he could come across as unsympathetic and impatient but I don't think this is the case at all. The medical system is system is strained in Ontario and I think he is trying his best to get to and help as many patients as possible. With all the work that he puts in, he never appears to be in negative spirits when I have an appointment. He gets 5 stars with that attitude!

He effortlessly breaks down intricate details, sketches out a clear plan, and, at times, even conjures up visual aids to ensure complete clarity. Now, my son's memory resembles a leaky faucet—he tends to forget what's said and what needs doing. However, one day, I inquired about his appointment, and he effortlessly spilled out details like a pro. Dr. Zhao, the genius, had listed all the action items in neat bullets and advised him to snap a screenshot. A complete game-changer—no more detective work deciphering what went down during the appointment. And here's the kicker: my son wouldn't even entertain the idea of a walk-in clinic, even in those "urgent but not quite emergency" situations. Nope, he's standing firm for Dr. Zhao! The trust level? Through the roof—only Dr. Zhao gets the superhero seal of approval. Shifting focus to receptionists—over the past five years, I've encountered three, and I must say, they're all part of a delightful crew. The young, Cantonese-speaking lady? A true sweetheart. Now, the Mandarin-speaking one? Maybe an extra shot of espresso in the mornings could work wonders. But let's be real, you're not there for the receptionist banter; you're there to catch up with the one and only Dr. Zhao.♂️
As a long time patient here, my experience has always been excellent. The doctors are extremely patient and thorough - always explaining in detail their evaluation. The staff are conscientious and always extremely kind & understanding. I'd highly recommend this location for anyone looking for a doctor.
Dr. James Zhao is very unprofessional and unreasonable. After I scheduled a physical exam, he requested a "COVID" pre-screen appointment with me at 1-2 PM the day after, since this was the only time he claimed to be available. I explicitly told him at the time of scheduling the "pre-screening" (which is a simple task that could be done via email or could even be handled by the receptionist), that I would have a work meeting at 2PM, so if he called me after 2PM, I would be unable to answer. On the day of the pre-screening, Dr. Zhao calls me late at 2:05, so it was obvious that I would be unable to answer his calls. About 10 mins later, he calls my wife and starts throwing a hissy fit and says my appointment the next day was automatically cancelled and that I would be charged $85 because I "missed" my COVID pre-screen call. He also starts yelling about how in 2 years, no one has been able to avoid paying his fees and rudely hangs up on her. Afterwards, he refused to take any new appointments unless I would pay his ridiculous $85 fee, even though it was his fault he had called outside of the time window he had himself agreed upon, and knew ahead of time that I would be unable to answer. This doctor acts like a child with a huge ego issue and thinks his time is more valuable than anyone else's. He needs a reality check and should treat his patients with respect rather than bullying them for his own mistakes.
I have been searching for a new family doctor for over a decade, because I could not find a replacement to my family doctor who is in downtown. This office is busy with the number of patients they see daily, but the staff tries their best. They are friendly, considerate, and accommodating, as they have accommodated for my schedule on multiple occasions. My family doctor at this office is Dr. Wong, who is incredibly kind and caring. He always has half an hour allocated for me. Although their policy is one issue per appointment, Dr. Wong is extremely lovable. In the sense that he actually cares and wants the best for me, and all his patients. I am grateful and indebt to the people at this office.
