I went for an oil change as usual when my car reaches 10,000 km. Based on the new program you offer, if I buy tires, I receive the BS Free Tire Guarantee, which includes free tire rotation, balancing, and alignment. Normally, I bring my own oil and filter, and I am charged $42 for the service. This time, when I came in, John, the manager of this branch, tried to charge me $82. This made it clear that he was pushing me to buy new tires. At first, he said this would save me money, but later he changed his explanation and said that “everything has gone up.” I asked him what exactly he was putting in my car. The oil is mine, and the filter is mine. You are only performing the oil change—you are not using your own oil or filter. Changing the price without justification and giving false explanations is disrespectful. Because of this behavior, I will leave a review so others understand what is happening here. This also reminds me of a previous incident when I was told there was an issue with my tire, and I was pressured into replacing both tires unnecessarily. This is unprofessional, disrespectful, and unacceptable. This is not how you retain customers. I will also report this matter to your head office, as I believe I was unfairly pressured into buying tires.
Excellent customer service. The technicians and the manager were honest thank you John and thank you Anthony for doing my oil change. You will see me again.
I walked inside to do a transmission fluid flush and spoke to Bobby as usual for what I need to get done. Few minutes later, Bobby shows me that there was no need because a sticker from the manufacturer gave a warning not to do it unless in need of repair. I felt guilty that I wasted time of John’s team. I asked about the brakes if they needed fixing, was told they were okay for the time being and my oil change wasn’t due yet. I asked if I can pay something for the time they took to bring up and down the car along with the inspection - nothing was taken but I received great service and also, a customer that will come here for everything moving forward. because of my job location and commute, I switch various places to get oil changes and tire swaps - now I am going here ONLY. thank you John Louie, Bobby, and the rest of the team….you are awesome.
The people at Midas are friendly, I took my car in to have my muffler fixed, the mechanic came out and showed me what had to be fixed and didn’t try and upsell and are very honest. I like that it’s well lite and they keep it very clean and comfortable for the customers, they have left a positive impression on me and my husband and enjoyed talking with the mechanic, he is a good guy and has a wonderful personality. Thanks Midas for the VIP service we received and highly recommend them to bring in their vehicle for serving, you won’t be disappointed.
The organization of the appointment process was highly lacking. Despite booking an appointment yesterday and receiving verbal confirmation, I was denied the appointment when I visited today. This situation is extremely frustrating and demonstrates a lack of competence on their part.
Disappointing and Unethical Service at MIDAS I recently booked an appointment at MIDAS for a *winter tire change only*. However, when I picked up my car, I was shocked to see an *unexpected $200+ charge for an oil change*—a service I never requested. 1. Misleading Practices: I only reviewed and signed the *second page* of the paperwork, which had *no mention of an oil change*. The staff claimed it was listed on the *first page*, but why wasn’t this clearly communicated before the service? 2. Unnecessary Service: My car is a *new BMW* with *3 years of free manufacturer maintenance*, including oil changes. There was *zero reason* for MIDAS to perform this service—especially without my consent. 3. *Overcharging Tactics*: Oil changes are the *most expensive part of maintenance*, making it obvious they were trying to exploit customers for profit. 4. Rude Staff: The front desk employee was consistently dismissive and unprofessional both during drop-off and pickup. This was a *waste of money* and a *breach of trust*. I will *never return* and advise others to *double-check every charge before paying*. Avoid this location!
I went to Midas to get my car repaired because my tire was punctured by a nail. Bobby gave me a very detailed explanation and was extremely helpful. Now I know how to protect my tires and prepare for the future. Midas is definitely a partner you can trust, especially when you have issues with your tires.
