Clean & tidy small restaurant. Dinner or late night dishes are good with reasonable price. Food taste not bad. Close late so it is a good place for late night eat.
We tried the set menu for takeout that included 1 choice of seafood (lobster, crab, or steamed tilapia or green bass) plus a choice of either half a chicken in pieces or hand-shredded, with soup and rice. The price then ranges if you choose those base items plus a choice of 1-4 other dishes. We chose just 1 dish + the base items for $59.99, but 2 dishes is $69.99, 3 is $79.99, and 4 is $89.99. There are a wide range of dishes to choose from, including meat, vegetables, tofu, etc. Everything was good, especially for the price, and the portions were fairly generous. Rice and soup are proportionate to how many dishes you order. The restaurant itself is pretty small, but there are a few larger tables, plus a small private room. They open late (until 1am). There is a decent amount of parking at the lot at Metro Square and Century Plaza, but it can get busy with all the eateries.
We found this restaurant through the Too Good To Go app and went to pick up a surprise bag. Unfortunately, it was the worst Chinese food we’ve ever had. It tasted burnt, like leftover scraps mixed with fried rice. The quality was terrible, and it smelled like old, burnt oil. We only ate a few bites and immediately felt nauseous. We had to throw the rest away because it made us feel really sick. Very disappointing experience.
For the price, the quantity of food they give you is so little. The seafood chow mein had little to none seafood in it and the wrong vegetable. Same for the squid with spicy salt. The food is good, but they give you so little to be priced at 20 plus dollars per dish. I ordered again and this will be the last time. Somehow the quantity was even less than last time? More than half the container was empty.
Came here for the first time with my family today. Unfortunately our experience was not great, hence the one star. Atmosphere Nothing much to note here. Not exactly welcoming but not dirty. I didn’t use their facilities so I cannot speak on that but the chairs were old and cracking and much of the decor was from the restaurant that was there previously. Service They were really trying to hard sell some of their seafood dishes. We ordered three lunch combos for our party of three but she suggested we buy an additional dish of vegetables because we haven’t ordered any vegetable dishes. We ordered it because we felt pressured to do so but we regretted it. All our dishes contained vegetables and we couldn’t finish the three dishes we originally ordered. We could have said no but we were uncomfortable with the hard sell. Also, since we ordered the lunch combo, milk tea and soup is included. They forgot to give us our soup until we asked for it halfway through our meal. Food Unfortunately the food was only ok. Nothing to get excited about. We ordered three noodle dishes (plus the veg dish they told us we should order). Really nothing spectacular. But the main reason I’m writing this review is because we found a wire (thin and at least 2 inches long) in one of the noodle dish. I found it as I chewed on it and noticed something was not right. Not sure if there was more and we had already ingested it but we immediately brought it to their attention. Their initial reaction was to ask if we wanted a replacement dish but by this time, it was already towards the end of the meal and we didn’t want another dish. She said (in Chinese), “sorry, how do you want to deal with this?” And we just said we are letting them know because this could be very dangerous, especially with children. She asked to check if I was ok and that was the end of it. We were kind of disappointed with their reaction and that they did not comp us for the dish or offer a small discount. Suffice it to say, we will not be returning.
I tried the Combo set lunch of Pork chop in maggie sauce. Good strong taste of maggie. Come with tea and soup is a complete meal. I &came back to try the Fresh oysters with balachan sauce. Unfortunately, this dish is overwhelmed with sautéed onions and diced red peppers. No sight of 8 pieces of fresh oysters. Also it is sad that they don’t provide sugar for the milk tea. Food tasted good and the service friendly.
I recently had an unfortunate experience at a restaurant where the customer service regarding my takeout order was extremely rude. Not only did she displays a lack of respect and but she also made me feel rushed and pressured to place my order quickly even restaurant was not busy. She even told me that restaurant doesn’t accept to pay the bill with coins.
